Do you actually want to sell your Dodge Neon or not?

New tires and brakes with a warranty at 1500? Running and driving with low miles? My daughter is 8, but I'd be tempted to buy this for her first car because it seems like such a steal! Who cares if they washed it!

They would have to charge more to wash it, same if the tank is full of gas.

They pass the savings directly on to me.

Fair enough.

Yeah, but Neons are kind of the emblem of no effort, so...

I just looked up the Neon and the safety ratings have removed it from my list.

Paint’s peeling, low mileage, low price, eh, why bother spending the extra couple hours detailing it for that price? Granted, this is probably why I still haven’t sold the car I have listed for sale, but I guess that’s your point, I don’t really care if I sell it.

Marginal, poor, and poor. Well, fair enough. I was going to say if you wanted another poo-grade small car to investigate you could get an Opel-based Saturn (L series/LS), but its ratings appear to be acceptable/poor/poor, so barely any better.
I seem to recall the Saab version is better, though.

Here’s a nugget
More than 160 drivers of small 4-door Dodge Neons were killed per million registered vehicles annually between 2002 and 2005, one of the highest driver death rates of any car at that time.

I’d be interested to see a demographic correction, though. Ain’t nobody older than 35 that was buying a Neon Back Then.

If he rinses it off, what’s left of the paint will come with it.

I feel like everyone posting in that Redemption Garage story today kind of forgot that Neons are basically the reason why people think small cars are death trap, despite modern ones being safe.

since the clear coat looks so bad they were like, yeah, that will just make the splotches stand out more

That makes sense.

I certainly forgot about it. Until I considered one for my daughter.

It’s not like teens were buying new cars even the cheapest one.
